Fuji & Lake Kawaguchiko

The view is worth making time for.

This guide is about the lake area and sightseeing from Tokyo, not climbing Mount Fuji. Plan a day that still has something to offer if clouds cover the mountain.

Getting there

From Shinjuku, highway buses run to Kawaguchiko Station. JNTO gives just under two hours as an indicative trip time; road conditions can add time.

A rail option is the JR Chuo Line to Otsuki, then the Fujikyuko Line to Kawaguchiko. Check current departures, fares and pass coverage before travel. Local sightseeing buses serve the lake area.

Journey times are indicative, not timetable promises. Check the official guides below for current services.
